Download East Asian Language Pack for Windows XP

This is an alternative for those who can not access their Operating System Installation Disc to install the East Asian Language Pack. Most of these files were individually hunted down on the internet. Big thanks to dlldump.com who had all of the DLL files in their database.

Notes about this install

  • I can't guarantee this will work for you. However, this has worked for me when nothing else would.
  • I am running on XP SP3. I have no idea if this will work for XP Pro or Office. (someone has confirmed this works for Office as well as Professional, thanks)
  • Does this work on other versions of windows like Vista or 7? Please comment your success or.. failure. Thanks in advance.(someone stated this comes pre installed on Windows 7, thanks)
  • You need 7zip or an equivalent program to extract the compressed files.
  • If the files are down, post in the comments or contact me with the form in the side bar and I will re-upload the file.
  • If this method isn't working you could try here for an alternate installation process.

    2. First you need a torrent downloader like uTorrent.
You can get it here: http://www.utorrent.com/

Then just click the link on this page that says "Torrent File Download" and uTorrent will start to download it.

    3. Trying to d/l uTorrent and it gets to "Preparing your installation, please wait" and that is as far as it goes:( Don't know if anyone else has had this happen. Very frustrating as nothing else has worked. I do appreciate the site and will keep trying the suggestions here.

    1. This isn't some kind of translation. This is the east asian font pack. It adds the characters to your OS so you can display languages from East Asia. If you can see the characters instead of little empty boxes you installed this correctly.

    1. That is strange. I see it's a JP site so it should be covered by the EAF pack. Can you actually read the text on the page for the link you sent? I mean is it just the file that's missing the characters?

      Can you see this? "製品版アップデートパッチ"

As someone keeps reporting the files almost immediately after I upload them I assume I have pissed someone off. Bittorrent is now my only viable option. 1. Sorry for the taking so long to reply. My health has not been so good.

The file has been made available as a .torrent file. You will need a bittorrent client to download the file. Try the client uTorrent, it's freeware. Download the .torrent from here then open it with the program uTorrent. You may need to configure the client for your system before it will work properly. If you google "configure uTorrent" you will find help around the internet or you can email me at Nintai83@gmail.com and I can give you a hand directly.

Alternately, someone has re-uploaded the file as a split archive to mediafire. You can find the links in the comments above. Just scan the files with your AV protection before you extract them as I can't verify there safety. I checked them out and they looked legit though.

  87. Hello My Name Is Tebi Heriandy I'am From Indonesia..
I want To Play Hoshizora No Memoria But The Text Isnt in English Text , That i Need to Install Japanese Language For My Computer,, but i didnt have CD Windows XP..

Can U Help Me? (Sorry My English Is Not Good :D)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The pack here WILL install the characters you need to display Kanji and Japanese. However, unless you can read Japanese and Kanji then it will not help you understand the words in the game. What you need are Indonesian or English subtitles for that game. I found a website that has an English 1.0 patch. http://staircasesubs.com/hoshizora-no-memoria/

I am not sure if you will need the font pack as well, so it may be a good idea to install the font pack from here then install that English patch just to be safe. It couldn't hurt to be able to read East Asian language on your system. This is an educated guess on my part as I have never tried to play an East Asian game on my system.

If you would like you can email me at nintai83@gmail.com and I will try to help further. Your English is not bad at all. Keep it up!

    1. Usually when you download an archive and it is corrupt the problem lies with a bad download instead of a problem with the archive. Small pieces of the file were missed for one reason or another. Generally it's an issue with your connection or the server the file is stored on. Downloading the file again or from a different mirror is a good place to start.

  136. Just wondering, are these files safe?

    1. What do you mean by safe? I can assure you that if there was anything nasty in the download you would see it in the comments. They are also in archive ".rar" format, so you can safely scan the file before extracting. It's good practice to scan archives before you extract them always. As far as being safe to install, yes they are fine. These are all files that come with a Windows XP installation Disk. They are being provided here alternately for those that can not access their disk.

  147. I found this site through a google search and needed to get Simplified Chinese & Traditional Chinese on my system for windows XP. I used the filedropper (http) link and it's great! Very quick, very easy to do & easy to follow instructions. Takes only about 3 minutes. Now I have Chinese text that can be viewed in MS Word & on all website. Great Job! Many Thanks. :-)
